SHREWSBURY CHAMBER MEANS BUSINESS…COME AND JOIN US!
Welcome to Shrewsbury Business Chamber. This organisation has been continually representing Business in the Shrewsbury area since 1903 and has a dedicated Executive Committee who meet monthly to discuss all issues affecting business in our area.
As a business group we offer our members the opportunity to network and chat with other business people at our month Members Meetings where we have guest Speakers talking about many different business topics. As a member you are welcome to set up a trade table at these events to directly promote your business.
We also act as a lobbying group and have Executive members representing many aspects of commerce including members from Manufacturing, Retailers United, Building, Banking and the Town Council. Using this website and the Executive Members contact details you as a member are able to voice your concerns to your committee and we can then action that by Meeting with the relevant people.

New Membership Fees: Home-based businesses can enjoy full Chamber benefits. We have introduced this new pricing structure so that home-based businesses can enjoy the benefits of full Chamber membership for a trial period of 12 months at a reduced fee of £25.

Executive Committee Meetings:
If any member has an issue to raise on the Agenda, please contact Val
Povall, Chamber Secretary prior to the meeting. The next Executive Committee
meetings are as follows: Tuesday 21st February at Salop
Leisure, and Tuesday 20th March (venue to be confirmed).
Business Chamber 2012 Members’ Meetings. Please note that members
Meetings will be held at the Greenhous Meadow Stadium, STFC, Oteley Road,
Shrewsbury, and generally on a Thursday. Please note the following Members
Meeting dates in your Diary:
16th February - Details to be announced.
15th March - Visit to British Telecom Centre -
Whittington House, Park Hall, Oswestry.
19th April - Nigel Hinton of Andrews, Orme & Hinton Ltd,
Chartered Accountants. Nigel will be making a presentation about Cloud Computing
and the latest ICAN accounting systems. (For the technically minded Cloud
Computing provides computation, software, data access, and storage services
that do not require end-user knowledge of the physical location and
configuration of the system that delivers the services). ICAN accounting
systems is a joint venture of Andrews Orme & Hinton Ltd Chartered
Accountants of Shrewsbury and White Whale Software based in Wolverhampton.
Using plain English and minimum accounting jargon the system makes record-keeping
a pleasure. The system is ideal for start ups and businesses on the move and
those who travel nationally and internationally. Sounds exciting!
